SBA seeking nominations for 2010 West Virginia Small Business Person of the Year

    CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The U.S. Small Business Administration's West Virginia District Office is soliciting nominations for its 2010 Small Business Person and Champions of the Year awards. The award winners will represent West Virginia during regional and national competition and will also be honored at the annual West Virginia Small Business Celebration scheduled for late spring in 2010.

    Judy McCauley, director of the SBA’s West Virginia Office, states, “Small Business Week gives us the opportunity to recognize and reward the entrepreneurs and small business champions who have worked so hard. Please recognize a small business or champion who has earned one of these prestigious awards.”

    Small Business Champion awards are made to individuals or organizations dedicated to supporting small businesses. Champions may or may not be small business owners. The award categories include: Small Business Person; Small Business Exporter; SBA Young Entrepreneur (under age 30);  Family-Owned Small Business; Entrepreneurial Success; Financial Services Champion; Home-based Business Champion; Minority Small Business Champion; Veteran Small Business Champion; and Women in Business Champion.

    The deadline for nominations is Monday, Nov. 30, 2009.
